Our mission at OncologyCares is to help oncology patients, their caregivers, and their loved ones to have ownership, comfort, and understanding in their own care. We know that a cancer diagnosis can be an intimidating time filled with uncertainty. Our commitment to you is that you have an understanding of your disease, a realistic expectation of your treatment course, and your questions heard and answered.
Katie Highsmith, PharmD, BCOP
Owner and Founder
Katie founded OncologyCares in 2016 while working as a clinical pharmacy specialist at MD Anderson Cancer Center. She is a licensed and board certified oncology pharmacist with post-graduate training completed at the VA San Diego Healthcare System and MD Anderson Cancer Center. For the duration of her career, she has spent her time immersed in the direct care of cancer patients. Katie is passionate about cancer patients receiving optimal care and understanding the treatment that they are receiving.
